About Me

The photo is of one of my work gardens. I won't show any photos of my home gardens for fear the Master Gardeners will revoke my certification if I do. I live with my husband, my daughter, one dog, two cats, several dustballs...

    The mustache

Ok, I've been toying with the idea of starting a blog for awhile, but I didn't really have anything important I felt I wanted to say. But now something momentous has happened...my husband shaved his mustache off! That's right, for the first time in the 18 years I've known him, I can see his upper lip! He did it this morning while I was at work. I noticed the goatee was gone right away, but it took a few minutes before I realized the mustache was missing too. It just looks...odd. He looks like he's always frowning (or maybe he really is frowning-it's hard to be sure).

We went to see his neurologist today, who told him he's absolutely not allowed to drive (Hubby had a seizure while driving & hit a guardrail a few weeks ago). The Good Doctor said we're fortunate the police didn't take his license when he had the accident-if they suspect a seizure they usually do. So we increase the amount of medication, and go back to see Dr. K in a month.

What is proper blog etiquette, anyway? Are you supposed to use names? Last names I have no intention of using, but what about first names? If I keep this blog going, in 6 years will I still be referring to people as "Hubby" and "Daughter"? It was hard enough to come up with a name for the blog...if I have to think of nicknames for everyone I mention it'll take forever to update. The blog name, by the way, refers to my gardening endeavors in my own yard, not my work stuff. Most of my neighbors would laugh if you tried to tell them what I do for a living. Right now, for example, would be a great time to be outside pulling weeds, but what am I doing? Sitting in front of the computer typing about a mustache. Some gardener.
